VIP Desert Safari Dubai: What You Really Get (and Is It Worth It?)

Search “VIP desert safari Dubai” and you will find hundreds of tours using the same three letters. Some are genuinely premium. Many are a standard evening safari with a new label. This guide explains exactly what “VIP” should mean, what our Desert Safari VIP package includes, and how to decide whether the upgrade is worth it for your trip.

What “VIP” Should Mean on a Dubai Desert Safari

A real VIP safari is not about a fancier name on the ticket. It changes four things that shape your evening:

  • Space — fewer people in your vehicle and your own seating section at camp, instead of long shared benches.
  • Time — longer dune bashing and an extended camel ride, so nothing feels rushed.
  • Food — a served, multi-course dinner rather than queueing at a buffet.
  • Attention — a dedicated guide who looks after your group all evening.

If a “VIP” tour you are comparing does not change at least two of these, you are looking at a standard safari at a higher price.

What’s Included in the Desert Safari VIP Package

Our VIP package costs AED 350 per person and includes:

How the Evening Unfolds

3:00–3:30 PM — Pickup

Your driver collects you from your hotel or home. The drive south to the Al Lahbab desert takes 45–60 minutes.

4:00 PM — Dune bashing and sunset

Tyres are deflated, seatbelts on, and the real show begins: 45 minutes of climbing, cresting and sliding over dunes up to 90 metres high. Your driver then stops on a high ridge for golden-hour photos.

5:00 PM — Camp activities

At camp you have time for the quad bike, the extended camel ride, sandboarding, henna and the falcon photo — without queuing, because VIP guests are looked after by their own guide.

7:00–9:00 PM — Dinner and shows

Your 5-course BBQ dinner is served at your VIP seating while the belly dance, Tanoura, fire and Khaliji performances take place on the stage in front of you.

9:00–10:00 PM — Back to your hotel

Is a VIP Desert Safari Worth It?

Yes, if you are celebrating something, travelling as a couple or with older family members who value comfort, or you simply do not want to share benches with 200 strangers. The quad bike alone is a AED 100 add-on on the standard safari, so the real price difference is smaller than it looks.

Still comparing? Our Deluxe vs VIP comparison breaks down the price difference.

Maybe not, if you are on a tight budget and mainly want the dune bashing and photos. In that case the classic Evening Desert Safari delivers the core experience.

Want complete privacy instead? Look at the G-Class private desert safari or the Hummer evening desert safari.

Tips for Booking a VIP Desert Safari

  • Book 2–3 days ahead in peak season (November to March).
  • Tell us about occasions — birthday decorations can be arranged (AED 150).
  • Wear long trousers and closed shoes, and bring a light jacket in winter.
  • Mention health conditions — dune bashing is not advised during pregnancy or with back problems; we can arrange a gentler drive.
